Kate Sheppard Chambers welcomes enquiries from women across the country who share our ethos.
We are building a network of like-minded women. We prioritise supporting each other, while working independently in the way that suits us best.
Because our members work remotely, you can be part of Kate Sheppard Chambers wherever you happen to live. We aim to connect with and get to know fantastic barristers Aotearoa-wide. We are particularly conscious of women practising on their own in smaller regions where chambers of barristers are less prevalent.
Kate Sheppard Chambers is inclusive and promotes diversity. We strive to create a safe community for all members. We recognise the importance of intersectionality, and how different experiences will have shaped the lives of our members. Kate Sheppard Chambers is trans inclusive. We are a signatory to the New Zealand Law Society Gender Equality Charter.
We see Kate Sheppard Chambers as a kōhanga for female barristers at all levels. Whether it is a long term home for you, or a step along the way as you build your practice, we look forward to having you with us.
If you wish to be a part of Kate Sheppard Chambers or would like more information, please contact Charlotte Griffin or Isabella Clarke. See also the NZBA’s article in At The Bar, April 2021 on the establishment of KSC.
